Students practiced a shading gradation on Friday, Oct. 16th. This was a half sheet in their sketchbook For their "Shattered Value" practice assignment, they picked a Halloween image and then drew 8-10 lines (both horizontal and vertical lines). This is on a 6" by 9" paper. Now, take the practice and apply it to the picture. - Each shape has a high quality gradation from values 1-10. - The gradations flip each shape. The lights and darks never touch to create a visual pattern. Here is the final value assessment for this unit. This was a 60 minute test completed on Oct. 20, 2015 for this 9 weeks.
In this creative value study students were given two hours to draw an image of their choice and include a 10 section value scale. Here are the best ones from each period. A day- 2nd period A day- 3rd period A day- 4th period
Artist study page 14 in their sketchbook.
Page 15 is the value scale, cube and egg. Page 16 is their value creative project.
The students will be studying different artists as their warm ups. They will be using this format for each new artist. This is a full page in their sketchbook. |
