Probably the most important thing you need to know - the Chalk Walk Arts Festival is a rain or shine event. Pending any major weather events, we'll be out there. If in doubt, check our social media, we'll post any cancellation information there. Transportation Round Rock Parks and Recreation is providing two buses, including one handicapped bus, to run between the west parking lot at Dell Diamond and directly to the venue. There is no fee to use it. It will run on Saturday, the first bus leaving at 10 am from Dell Diamond, and the last bus leaving 6 pm from Centennial Plaza. You should expect 30-minutes between each bus. If you don't plan on using the shuttle service consider using services like Lyft or Uber to be dropped off and picked up near Centennial Plaza. Special Events Each Night Friday night (5:00pm - 7:00pm) will feature the High School Culinary Arts Showcase. For a $10 donation, you get multiple delicious samples AND support both schools. All proceeds will be split evenly between the two high schools. Saturday night (6:30pm - 9:00pm) will feature the Round Rock Arts "Arts & Crafts" event. $10 admission gets you a huge, delicious slice of Slapbox pizza + 1 craft beer (or non-alcoholic option!) + exclusive balcony access to watch the band. Free swag while supplies last! All proceeds go to Round Rock Arts – your local non-profit responsible for bringing Chalk Walk to Round Rock! You Can Make Your Mark We'll have a Community Chalk Zone where you can purchase a chalk square and make your own chalk mural! Performances A-Plenty! For the first time, there will be a concert on BOTH Friday and Saturday night from 8:00pm - 9:30pm. Friday night will feature the South Austin Moonlighters. Saturday night will feature Vallejo. Hands-On Activities For Kids The Kids Fun Zone sponsored by Sprouts will have button-making, hair-coloring, a coloring book area, and face painting. More information: roundrockarts.org/2018/06/16/chalk-walk-festival-2018/ Drawing students will be doing this in class. They will make an acordian book in class and will be doing the prompts everyday in class. At the end of the month the books and ink drawings will be on display in the hallway. Good luck! www.mrjakeparker.com/inktober-1/ |
